North Hykeham
motor factors doubles size
An expanding North Hykeham motor factors
business supplying specialist paints to the
motor trade- Fisher Motor Factors - has doubled
the size of its business premises at the Whisby
Way Business Centre, North Hykeham, in response
to growing demand for its services.
Proprietor Ian Fisher was one of the first
tenants to move to the North Kesteven District
Council commissioned Whisby Way Business Centre,
four years ago. He started his business 12
years ago operating from a mobile van, progressed
and took a 500 sq ft unit at the centre and
later expanded to take a 1,000 sq ft unit.
Now he has doubled the space again to 2,000
sq ft.
"The workforce has expanded from 2 to
7 and where we used to do £15,000 worth
of business a month turnover has now reached
£1/2 million and is growing. We supply
body shops and auto refinishers from Grantham
and Stamford in the south to Scunthorpe in
the north and with the extra space for increased
stock we are looking at further expansion,"
said Ian Fisher.
"Ian was one of the first tenants to
move into the Whisby Way Business Centre and
it is great to see the business is thriving
and expanding" said Daniel Race, partner
at Hodgson Elkington, chartered surveyors,
who let and manage the development for North
Kesteven District Council.
"The 17 units at the Whisby Way Business
Centre provide an important supply of starter
units for those businesses looking for good
quality and secure workshop space. They help
new businesses develop in a safe working environment
and the address lends credence to their professional
image," said North Kesteven District
Council leader, Councillor Mrs Marion Brighton
OBE.
"The units provide ideal facilities
ranging from 333 sq ft to 1000 sq ft and were
developed in partnership with REP Estates.
The Council has a 10 year lease."
"The Whisby Way Business Centre shows
North Kesteven District Council's commitment
to supporting small businesses start up and
grow. The units provide an invaluable tool
towards job creation and meet a clearly defined
demand.
"We are delighted that one of our first
small businesses has gradually expanded and
has increased both turnover and job creation
to this extend. Ian Fisher's success is to
be warmly congratulated," said Councillor
Mrs Brighton.
