New restaurant
plan for Lincoln

More than 30 jobs will be created when a
new restaurant chain opens in Lincoln's Brayford
Wharf North.
The new "Ask" restaurant will give
further choice to diners and lend vibrancy
to Lincoln's changing city centre waterside
area.
The pizza and pasta restaurant will be divided
into two levels and is due to open its doors
on Monday 12 August 2002.
Ask Central plc's Richard Watson said, "The
Brayford area provided the perfect opportunity
and location."
"Ask specialises in pasta and pizza
dishes and the restaurant will occupy ground
and first floor levels of 5,000sq ft overlooking
the waterfront."
"Around 30 new jobs will be created,"
he confirmed.
THe new development forms part of an £11m
regeneration scheme which intends to transform
the marina area into a new leisure attraction.
The plans for the development have been drawn
up by Simons Estates, who are working on behalf
of British Gas Pension Fund which owns the
site.
"The Brayford waterfront is now really
taking shape," said Stephen Bradford,
a partner at chartered surveyors Hodgson Elkington,
who are agents for the 80,000sq ft development.
"Ask is a quality restaurant operator
bringing further choice to the area,"
he said.
"There is only one remaining unit of
5,000sq ft left within the complex overlooking
the water space and this is already in an
advanced stage of letting."
"There is also serious interest expressed
in other units on Wigford Way."
"There is great potential to create
a Mediterranean style or feel to this area
of the city."
The opening of the new restaurant follows
the opening of the nine screen Odeon cinema
last October and night spot Bar Med last December."
Ask will be the latest piece of the regeneration
jigsaw to be put in place along the city's
Brayford Wharf.
