City Centre Partnership in New Year
move to Wigford House
Wigford House, one of the most imposing
and centrally located office buildings in
Lincoln overlooking the Brayford Pool, is
set to receive two new tenants early in the
New Year - Lincoln City Centre Partnership
and the Computer and Networking Services
Department of the University of Lincoln.
The move on January 3rd by Lincoln City
Centre Partnership will be to larger offices
on the fifth floor at Wigford House from
current premises on Newland. It comes as
part of a restructuring of Lincoln City Centre
Management which sees the project re-launched
and re-branded as the Lincoln City Partnership,
a new limited company with its own board
of directors. It will also coincide with
expansion and development plans for the public
and private sector initiative responsible
for promoting Lincoln’s busy retail
and commercial heart.
“We will be located right in the
heart of the city and just a stone’s
through away from the major retail developments.
The owners of Wigford House, Wigford Limited,
have been very accommodating and helpful.
It will be a good base to launch the newly
formed Lincoln City Centre Partnership which
has 11 members including Lincoln City Council,
the Chamber of Commerce Lincolnshire County
Council and other members from the private
sector,” said Matt Corrigan, Lincoln
City Centre manager. A new member of staff
will also join the team said Mr Corrigan.
Staff from the Computer and Networking Services
Department of the University of Lincoln which
supports the growing facility’s academic
and student population, have taken in excess
of 8,000 sq ft of space on the third floor.
Kevin
Forth, property systems manager at the University
of Lincoln said that a number of staff
from the department currently located at
Hull and in Lincoln would continue to transfer
to their new offices on a phased basis through
to February. After that more staff would
join the department as required to support
the University’s growing facilities,
undergraduates and staff. “Both these tenants have been attracted
to Wigford House due to its ideal, central
location, with good facilities, adjacent
car parking and access for the disabled.
We hope that other businesses will see the
advantages of being in such a position and
will choose to move into the remaining space,” said
Daniel Race, partner at Hodgson Elkington,
chartered surveyors who have handled the
lettings and are project managers.
The suites have been extensively refurbished
to meet the needs of the incoming businesses. “We
are very pleased to welcome these two tenants
toWigford House and feel they will be well
served in such a central location,” said
Chris Howard, director of Wigford Limited.
