Any old tackle
Old and second-hand fishing tackle is being
sought by the promoters of ‘Get Hooked
on Fishing’ in Lincoln. A charity auction
will take place at Thos Mawer & Son on
1 September where donated fishing tackle
will be sold to raise money to train coaches
and buy essential equipment for the scheme.

in the north of England. It aims to introduce
young people to angling and encourages appreciation
of the natural environment.
Hodgson Elkington are promoting the scheme
though their Junior Sports Programme. The
Lincoln project is being coordinated by LCDP,
a registered charity, and supported by local
angling clubs, the Environment Agency and
private sector.
Entries for the auction can be delivered
to the Voluntary Sector Hub at Beaumont Fee,
Lincoln, Hodgson Elkington at 343 High Street,
Lincoln or Thos Mawer & Son, Dunston
House, Portland Street, Lincoln. Entries
must carry the reference G200. Arrangements
can be made for collection. Further information
can be obtained from any of the above.
Project coordinator, Stuart Goodacre, said “All
items of old fishing tackle can be put to
good use. We need old and interesting items
of tackle to make our auction a success and
help raise the money needed for coaching
and basic equipment. Any suitable items of
modern tackle that are donated will be retained
for use by our young anglers.”
