North Kesteven District Council properties fully let

Managing agents and District Council officers were today celebrating the full occupation of a portfolio of workshop and office units in North Kesteven, reflecting high levels of demand and the buoyancy of the local economy.

It was only in the summer of last year that Chartered Surveyors Hodgson Elkington secured a five year contract with North Kesteven District Council to undertake the letting and management of properties at Whisby Way in North Hykeham, Moorlands Trading Estates at Metheringham, Hoplands Business Centre, Sleaford, office and workshop units at Aubourn and offices and craft workshops at Navigation Yard, Sleaford.

"We were very pleased to secure this prestigious contract with North Kesteven District Council last year and it has been a personal goal to get the entire portfolio fully let.  I am delighted that we have achieved this," said Hodgson Elkington partner, Daniel Race.

"Working in an improving market and with a proactive approach to lettings we have completed new leases and renewals with existing tenants on 46 of the 71 units we manage. I feel that one of the main reasons for our success has been the adoption of a simple tenancy agreement that provides tenants with rapid occupation and flexible tenure. They are not required to sign and be tied into a long lease," said Mr Race.

Leader of North Kesteven District Council, Councillor Mrs Marion Brighton, OBE, said: "This is very good news for businesses in North Kesteven and proves that it is important for all organisations working to help businesses, to try and reduce barriers and unnecessary bureaucracy.

"We are delighted that so many small businesses have been helped by the provision of work units and look forward to our continuing relationship with Hodgson Elkington in managing those units."
